These two were literally a dream to photograph.
Haley and Conner are a beautiful couple, but more important than that, they were so easy-going, kind, and full of genuineness. (Wasn’t sure that was a word, but I didn’t get a red line under it, so I’m going with it.) I knew they were a perfect match when I met Conner over a year ago when we did their engagement session. I could tell then that they not only were completely smitten with each other, but they also worked together to figure things out. They have successfully navigated a long distance relationship for a bit, and I know they are beyond excited to begin their life together. And I have to mention how impressed I was with the way Conner clearly adores his bride. I watched him pull out her chair at the reception, help her with her beautiful dress, and a hundred other small gestures that show a person’s true character.
As I watched both their families celebrate this special day with Haley and Conner, I couldn’t help but think about the importance of family in our lives. It doesn’t matter if your family is DNA related or not, your family is the grounding force in your life. They are who play the biggest role in championing you following your dreams, and they are typically first in line to celebrate life’s beautiful moments. The tears, the hugs, parents videoing moments they want to remember forever, and many other special touches throughout the day made it easy to see the love that they have for this couple. Both Haley and Conner are so blessed with great support systems – from their relatives to their friends, who we all know are just the family that we choose.
Haley and Conner, it was my honor to photograph your beautiful wedding. As I said earlier, you were truly a dream to work with. I appreciate how much you trusted me, and I will always remember your wedding with a tug to my heart and a big smile. Seeing the joy on your faces is one of the things that keeps me photographing weddings, and I know the love you share is made for a lifetime. We all know that life throws curveballs at us from time to time, but I know that you two will always figure it out. I hope you had an amazing honeymoon in your favorite place, and that you had much better luck that I do at finding bears. Love and blessings to you both, Pat
