Kylie and Emmy feel more like family than photography clients, and that’s just the way I like it. I love when they come to visit, and I’m amazed each year at the changes, and how each of them has grown. This year, Kylie is even more prissy, and Emmy is talking like nobody’s business. She will say just about anything, and if she doesn’t say it with words, she says it very clearly with her eyes. I’ve had people remind me before to remember that my face gives away my thoughts; well Miss Emmy’s eyes do the same for her. And those beautiful little eyes are full of fun and no nonsense equally. It just depends on how she feels about what is going on.
These sweet girls have no choice but to have fun personalities. I mean, have you met their parents? There’s no telling what Haley or Blake will say at any given moment, and they both have a heart the size of Texas. I have so many fun memories with them all the way back to their wedding, and even further back with Haley, and now I get to continue with these sweet girls. And just like their parents, they are full of life and joy. Like all children, they bring happiness to everyone around them.
Kylie is a natural poser, right down to her dainty little toes. In fact, we kind of have to pull her back a little, because she’s too good at it. I can’t begin to say how much fun it’s always been to photograph her, and I’m pretty sure she’s always viewed our sessions as pure fun. When Emmy came along a couple of years ago, Kylie struggled a little; not with her sweet little sister, but with the camera. She was used to my camera always being pointed in her direction, and her ideas for poses did NOT stop when her sister was born. She was quite frustrated about having to wait her turn a few times, and that is a memory that always makes me smile. Now that’s a kid after my own heart.
I LOVED the bears that Emmy and Kylie’s Aunt Beth had them made from their great, great grandmother’s pajamas. And I feel pretty certain that she would love their sweet smiles and giggles as they played with those bears while having pictures made. Emmy figured out that she could push Kylie off the little blue bench, and it thrilled her to her soul. She hasn’t really figured the picture thing out yet, but Kylie knew why they were sitting on the bench. With some help from Aunt Abby on the sidelines, she kept laughing and talking to her sister until we were able to grab some sweet shots.
So as another year moves forward, I know these little girls will continue to grow and learn. I can’t imagine what changes will be in store for me the next time they come to visit. What I know for certain is that I can’t wait, and we will have an awesome time. Love and blessings, -Pat
