Gunner | A Sweet Newborn Session in Scottsville

Weddings Engagements

Meet little Gunner. I was in awe the moment I laid eyes on this handsome little fella. He is amazing and absolutely a doll. His session was nothing short of a blessing and he was perfect during it. And by perfect, I don’t mean he didn’t cry a tad, and also needed a mini fill-up. That is the beauty of a baby, and something I hope all new parents recognize. Having a perfect newborn session isn’t absent of those things. It’s expected and happens, and is the sweetest part of having a little around. There are cries, and diaper changes, and lots and lots of fill-ups. And there are sweet sighs, eyes partly open, and wiggles. It’s all perfect.

On March 7th, Gunner Isaiah made his appearance, and all 8 lbs 3 oz / 20 1/2 inches of him is adored by his mom and dad, Kayla and Jeremy. These two are former students of mine and I love both of them and their little bundle. Kayla has always been a mini mother hen to her siblings and Jeremy was such fun to be around. His dry sense of humor always kept me in stitches back in the day. I knew they would be amazing parents and that was confirmed when I spent a couple of hours with them. I noticed how they worked together to make this session happen; how they doted and loved on little Gunner, and as always how much they loved and respected each other. What a blessing for the grandparents to get to witness this new family and how they exemplify a Christian home with love and kindness. It’s always uplifting for me to just be around them too.

And wait until you see Gunner’s little deer getup. Kayla had his hat ready, but the wrap hadn’t arrived when I came to do the pics. She was sad, but we decided to just make it work and did his pics minus the wrap on the bed with the deer pillow behind him. When I started out the front door to leave I almost stumbled over a small package perched against the door frame.  I knew immediately what it was. And little Mr. Gunner was so sleepy from all the moving around that he slept right through his wrap and we did those shots in five minutes. That was perfect timing, and I wasn’t even late for the session at my studio right after that.

Gunner, it’s a big old world out there. But you will have the best chance at overcoming obstacles, because you have what every child deserves and needs, doting parents and a sweet, safe home. You are a blessed boy and I pray that you always know how loved you are. Your mom and dad couldn’t wait to meet you, and now your whole family gets to watch you grow and learn. I wish you joy every single day of your life. Love and blessings, Pat
