Zoe + JD | A Beautiful Summer Wedding in Kentucky

They had to change their plans once. Then twice. And I’m not sure how many after that. Zoe and JD were supposed to say “I do” in May, and they actually did, but due to Covid 19, that May wedding had to be private. They reaffirmed their love and promises before their family and friends on July 11. It was a warm day, but it was also a gorgeous day. This amazing couple had the wedding of their dreams and they made it happen in spite of everything a pandemic could throw at them. What we know is that all the changes are now a part of their story, and this time in which we live will not easily be forgotten. Nor will the sacrifices every single person has had to make during this time. Brides and grooms have had to let go of their plans and dreams, but what they have quickly found is that real love endures whether you have a private ceremony or marry in front of a thousand.

And speaking of marrying…..Zoe and JD picked the PERFECT spot for their wedding. It took place on their farm in Barren County, and if I had been the one choosing the exact spot, it’s exactly where I would have chosen. You see, beautiful photos don’t just happen. Many points have to be considered to choose where to capture the perfect glowy lighting, back-lighting, and secondary lighting. I’m thrilled with how their photos turned out, but the perfect lighting at their ceremony spot had me smiling all afternoon.

What I’ve learned about Zoe and JD is that they put thought into everything; nothing is by accident. And neither of them is afraid to work to make their dreams happen. I love that they were able to marry on the actual farm that they call home. In fact, they married in the field beside their house. I can imagine that one day when their family grows, they will show their children where they married, and I bet that the pandemic and all the havoc it caused with their plans will be a part of that beautiful story too.

Zoe and JD, I fell in love with you when we did your engagement session, and your beautiful wedding just confirmed what an amazing couple you are. I can’t wait to see how the future unfolds for you as Mr. and Mrs. My prayer is that you always find joy and love in each other’s heart and that you weather every storm together – fighting side by side.
