Their wedding was filled with laughter, joy, and a few tears – all of them precious. I did a mini session for Shenna and Kyle last year at the Christmas tree farm, and I just knew this day would happen. Sometimes you can just tell. Then, when Shenna messaged me to ask about a wedding, I was thrilled but not surprised. And just as if on cue, the rain cooperated and the Lees were able to have the beautiful ceremony they had planned.
Shenna has two girls, and Kyle has two boys. Not only does it make for some symmetrically cool photos, I’m sure it makes for many interesting times. As the saying goes, I’d love to be a fly on the wall and hear some of the fun conversations that I just know happen. I can imagine some lively arguing, and lots and lots of giggling, maybe a frustrated eye roll or two. But plenty of fun. Isn’t that the joy of kids?? And I do love all of them, including the little boy who makes tons of faces before he gives me a sweet smile. Through it all, I know there will be many, many late night ball games and following sports. Enjoy every single minute. You will turn around twice, and they will all be grown and making their own way in the world. The days are long, but the years are short. We all find that out at some point in our life, and being able to share those long days and short years with someone who loves you is one of life’s biggest blessings.
Shenna and Kyle, I was incredibly blessed to photograph your wedding and I wish you years and years of joy, laughter, and tougher love than the tough times that come. As I always say, I hope you never forget how you felt on this day. Love and blessings, Pat
Shenna and her girls wore plaid shirts in honor of their dad and grandpa. They looked beautiful and it was the sweetest tribute to the man who has been so important in their lives. When we pass from this life, one of the most important gifts we leave behind is the memories that continue to linger with those we love.
When you blend a family, there’s no such thing as just “I do.” It takes lots of work, love and acceptance of each other’s kiddos. I love that both Shenna and Kyle gave gifts to their bonus children and promised to love them forever too.
And just on cue, Fall showed up in all her colors to steal the show.
Seth Graves, with Magnolia & Steel, came through with another win with this gorgeous bouquet!!
Kyle and Shenna’s cake was as delicious as it was beautiful!!
And now all their dreams have unfolded before their eyes. It was a beautiful night.
