Renee + Landon | A Rustic Spring Wedding With Reception at the Barn at Bethel Grove

Weddings Engagements

Renee’s new father-in-law summed it up when he said how proud he was to have the biggest tomboy around for a daughter-in-law.  You wouldn’t know it at first glance.  She’s stunning, and likes a bit of glitter and bling, but not much. Renee’s beautiful long hair curls for years and her eyes dance with mischief, or maybe she’s just planning the next dove hunt.  But then I saw tears of happiness when her new husband slow danced with her during their reception at The Barn at Bethel Grove.  We all had a lump in our throat when he wiped them away, and I have a feeling he will always wipe away her tears.   They are just the perfect couple.  Sometimes opposites attract, but in this case, they are one and the same.  Both appreciate and love nature, and I’ll say with certainty that no game is safe when they lock on their sites.

Then, when the Groom’s brother, Adam, raised his toast to the bride and groom, most guests were blinking really fast and sniffing. What had started as a fun banter from an obviously talented speaker, quickly turned into a heartfelt nod of approval for his younger brother and his beautiful bride. He spoke about how Landon and Renee met at Hopkinsville, KY, and their first date on a kayaking trip on a work rain-out day. And then he talked about her love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and most of all her new husband. Adam also talked about the character of his brother, and how he is a man of his word. Our brothers and sisters see every part of our lives; they see when we make mistakes, when we shine, and when we pick ourselves up out of the muck and keep going. So when a brother chokes up during his tribute and clearly has admiration for the man beyond his brother, it’s real.  I already knew in my heart that this couple was a salt of the earth pair, that their purpose was to live a life that showed character and strength, but after listening to both toasts, I have no doubt. And what better tribute can anyone say about any of us; that we love deeply, keep our word, and do what’s right. This is a deep foundation of all that is good and right in our world.

As with all my brides, Renee is my friend on Facebook and Instagram, and when I read her post about her wedding it said, “Today was the HAPPIEST day of my life.”  My intuition told me this was true before she even said it.  I could tell from the moment I walked into her dressing barn.  Renee and Landon deeply, appreciates life, and takes nothing for granted.  They are wise beyond their years, and deeply realize how blessed they are to have to have found each other.  Life is short; and beauty is fleeting (Although with Renee, that may not be the case.), but a marriage and friendship grounded in true respect and service to each other will last a lifetime.

Renee and Landon, you are such a special couple, and I was blessed to be a part of your happiest day.  Love and best wishes to you,   Pat

Renee lost her father last year, and she had this picture framed to carry on her bouquet.  Her sweet mother surprised her with his wedding ring to carry as well.

Renee’s mom met us at the church.  I could tell immediately where Renee gets her kind heart and sweet spirit.  Her mom just has a personality that makes anyone feel at ease.

Oh and I can’t forget Mema!  She can still roll through some moves, (scroll on to see for yourself), but her heart and wisdom is undeniable.  No wonder Renee adores her.
