Over a year ago, Will’s nephew told his pretty teacher, Miss Mathis, that she really should consider dating his uncle. As a former teacher myself, I know how young students can have some amazing but pretty far-fetched ideas sometimes. And Rachel has figured that out too. She was flattered, but dismissed his idea. But he was persistent and earnest in pushing her. When her sweet student mentioned it yet again, she said, “You don’t even know if your uncle would be interested in me…” She could not have been more wrong in her life. And it changed her life. Today Will and Rachel are making big plans, plans for forever. And I can’t wait to meet the nephew who saw it coming, or at least the possibility of it, before anyone else. I’ll be sure to include a photo of him with them on their wedding blog.
I’m so grateful for every couple I’ve been blessed to meet through photographing weddings and engagement sessions. Rachel and Will are definitely two of the sweetest ever. I did Rachel’s sister’s wedding nearly two years ago. She was 100% dedicated to making sure her sister’s wedding went off without a hitch. So I was thrilled when she messaged me about photographing her wedding this June. This is an incredibly important time in her life and I appreciate the opportunity to capture it for the future Mr. and Mrs. Davenport. Our session last Saturday at Barren River State Park was CRAZY WINDY, but it was such fun. I loved finding out their back story, and watching them made me realize that they are the perfect match for each other.
We saved Rachel and Will’s casual outfit for the marina area, and it was the perfect choice. Not only was the water beautiful, but it was even more windy. These two didn’t miss a beat. They are both so chill and easy going.
Rachel and Will, capturing love stories like yours makes my day! I can’t wait to witness how your day unfolds and to see the joy on both your faces. As I think about you two, I just can’t help but be amazed at your story, and I know in my heart that you have an amazing future. Don’t blink because before you know it, your day will be here. Love and blessings, Pat
