Michelle is stunning, hilarious, carefree, and has the bluest eyes you ever saw. I did her family’s fall session last year, and she asked me then if I’d photograph her senior session this year. Of. Course.
The plan was to meet at Western. They beat me there by just a couple of minutes, but it took me 10 extra ones trying to remember how to get to Garrett, where we met. It’s amazing how much change the campus has changed since the late nineties when I finished my last degree. (My directionally challenged mind doesn’t help either. ) I’m sure I’m partial because WKU is my alma mater, but the campus just gets more beautiful every year. It’s a perfect place for pictures of nearly any type. The beautiful white buildings and stone make gorgeous reflections on skin tones. I won’t get too deep into that, but trust me, it’s a pretty perfect place to shoot.
We had such a great time even though the clouds wouldn’t give us a break, and Michelle’s modeling skills made this session blazing fast even though I took TONS of photos. She was open to any ideas I had and also had some awesome ones of her own. She laughed at my silly fits over all the perfect leading lines and I laughed at her and her mom’s almost serious discussions about changing clothes in the back of the car. And in the end, it was a perfect senior session with lots of fun moments and lots of memories for all of us, and maybe some tears for her sweet mom.
You see, this girl is a runner. And she’s probably going to run right on down to Florida on a track scholarship. TWELVE hours away. My goodness. I know her parents are super proud, but also a bit terrified. Michelle has the determination to do it though, and she’s got a head on those shoulders. There’s so much more to her than just her pretty face. She’s real. And she’s alive with energy and gumption, and more than a little sweet sass.
Michelle, thank you for asking me to be a small part of this most important time in your life. I hope this last year brings you nothing but joy and tons of awesome memories. I hope all your dreams come true!! Love and blessings, -Pat
