Jarred’s boss summed it up when he spoke at the reception about how much Jarred loves Whitley. First he talked about the character, dependability, and hard work that describe the groom, all the things you’d want for your daughter’s husband. Then he talked about how Whitley supports Jarred and became the other half of his heart almost over night, all the things you’d want for a daughter-in-law. And meanwhile, more than one tear was wiped by those listening because they knew the truth of his words.
They are a beautiful couple and are living up every moment of this love that they have found. What a blessing to find the other half of your heart who has been in the world the whole time, but somehow your paths had not crossed before. Jarred and Whitley are such fun to be around and to watch their happiness continue to unfold. Life has a way of delivering us beautiful moments right when we never dreamed they would happen. I’m reminded of a thought in a frame on a wall in my home that says, “The best things in life aren’t things.” No truer words have ever been said. The love and happiness from finding your soulmate is priceless. And when that soulmate loves your little boy like Jarred loves Whitley’s Oakley, there is no greater gift.
And Jarred and Whitley braved frigid temps to get shots with the fall sunset and the brilliant colors, even though it was more like a winter afternoon. I kept saying let’s just do one more, and of course they were willing. I’m so glad we captured these with the gorgeous colors, because I’m pretty sure those glowing leaves have since blown away in the wind.
I was blessed to witness the beauty and sincerity of this wedding. Jarred and Whitley’s families and friends were such an important part of every aspect of their perfect day. Whitley’s dad made the beautiful arch that stood above them when they said their vows, and watching how friends and family flew in the put the church back to order as we finished family formals made my head spin. At the reception, so many family friends were serving guests and making sure everything went smoothly. Watching the hive of activity and the joy of everyone involved reminded me of why I love being a part of weddings.
Jarred and Whitley, thank you for allowing me to capture your sweet emotions and happiness at this special time in your life. You are perfect for each other, just the way it’s supposed to be. We all know that the beauty of a wedding does not make a marriage, but the beauty of your love and dedication to each other will bring you through anything life throws at you. As the seasons of life pass, I hope your love continues to deepen in ways that you can not imagine yet, those ways that can only come through loving each other through good times and bad, through thick and thin.
