Love, Fun, and Laughter, and just a little rain at the beautiful Dugas Park. That sums up Chris and Holly’s wedding. They are madly in love, and oh do they have a good time. It made the crazy rush with family formals and wedding party pics before the rain came in just a little easier, and all of our memories of this beautiful day just perfect. It was just perfect – rain and all. Because all last week, the forecast called for 80-90 percent chance of storms all day on August 1. And then just in time to make the bride smile and to give everyone else a sigh of relief, the forecast changed. Just a slight chance of a shower here and there. That happened, but after what could have been – perspectives changed.
It was perfect. Holly and Chris planned this day for early June, but the pandemic changed that thought. But it still couldn’t have been sweeter. Like everything else this year, you learn how to make double sugar, sweet lemonade with your lemons. Dugas Park was the perfect backdrop for the Gaines-Alexander wedding. The good food from Griddles, the beautiful, tasty cake from Amanda Minix, and the gorgeous florals from Seth Graves just finished the scene. I can’t leave out the laughs during the best man toast concerning a secret he’s kept from the groom since he was eight, the surprise father-daughter dance that created applause, and the hilarious decoration of the get away truck all made such a fun, but also elegant wedding that I won’t ever forget.
Holly and Chris, I adore you both, and I was honored to photograph your wedding. Your love is refreshing. I wish you years and years of fun and laughter – just like at your wedding. You both live life to the fullest. I love how you don’t waste a second of time, and that your joy is even more infectious than the current pandemic. I hope you never change and that your love endures forever. Hearts and blessings, Pat
