It was that classic moment when you realize it’s just a few minutes until all your dreams come true. Brooke drew in a deep breath and touched her stomach when someone said, “It’s just 30 more minutes.” She shook her head yes when I asked if her stomach just flipped. And that’s how it feels when everything you’ve wished for your whole life is about to happen all at once.

Sweet Rylin won’t remember the day his mom and dad married because he is so little, but Collin took everything in and added some. I remember back in the spring when we did their engagement photos, he shouted to me from the pavilion where he was hanging out with grandma. He said, “Did you know my daddy is going to marry my mama?” Some things just stick with you. On the day his daddy married his mama, Collin ate doughnuts, danced, and made guests smile all day.

Taylor and Brooke were both amazing to photograph. Brook is beyond photogenic and values photos, and Taylor was all about making his beautiful bride happy. It’s always a bonus when we are able to get some sunset photos, and they made it happen. Beautiful photos of any kind don’t just happen. They have to be one of the priorities, but not the main priority. And without the love and commitment for a marriage, wedding photos are just pieces of paper. Their significance is completely tied to the way each bride and groom treasures the other. There is no doubt in my mind that while this couple will enjoy their wedding pictures for years to come, they love each other more. That’s the way it should be.

Brooke and Taylor, it was my honor to photograph your wedding. I know it was a day you had been planned and worked toward for months, and it was beautiful.
