Holly might have been one percent more excited about this session than me! That is pretty much impossible, but I think she did it. I could hear the excitement in her voice when we talked about what we could do for their engagement photos. When we have an awesome game plan, the blooms are still around, and the weather cooperates, I’m in photographer heaven. Add an excited engaged couple (Well Chris was mostly excited because he got to kiss his girl a bunch.) and you have the makings of a perfect scenario. Sometimes, I have the hardest time being reasonable because ideas and pictures keep popping into my mind. Thankfully, they were up for anything, and trusted me to find some great spots. When they first became engaged, Holly originally wanted to do a fall session, but changed her mind when the blooms came to life this year. I’m so pleased with how spring shows up in their photos.
Both Holly and Chris were students at JEBMS a few years ago. Chris was a fun kid and what I remember most was how he thought about things and came up with alternate ideas. His ability to see outside the box was especially cool and made me have to think a little harder myself at times. And Holly – well that girl could talk her way into and out of what ever you can imagine. She was such a hoot and when I wasn’t trying to get her to just be quiet for a minute, I was cracking up at whatever comment had just escaped her mouth. And on top of that, she was an excellent student. I have such great memories of these two when they were students, and now time has passed and they are grown and about to set out on new adventures of their own.
Holly now uses her fun personality to talk our students at JEBMS into doing their work. She’s with us a couple days a week while she finishes college. I knew that she would do an amazing job, and she has. Her enthusiastic spirit and energy is both refreshing and motivating. Our students love her, and we do too. She’s going to be a talented and natural teacher, and one for which students will be excited to come to school to learn. And Chris is following in his dad’s footsteps with serving our community through both the fire department and ambulance service. It’s such a rewarding thing to see young couples chasing their dreams and loving how those dreams are unfolding in their lives. Chris did amazing for this session, and his genuine love for Holly showed in how he was up for any ideas Holly and I had.
Holly and Chris, you are an amazing couple, and I can’t say enough what a blessing it was for me to do these photos for you. I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year! Remember that the real beauty beyond your wedding will be the lifetime of love through the mountains and valleys, good and bad. Keeping that thought forefront will make every detail of this time precious, because no wedding is ever perfect from our plans. But the celebration of your love will be perfect and that is what it’s all about. I hope you cherish every minute of this time in your life. Months will fly by and before you know it, you will be Mr. and Mrs. Love and blessings, Pat
