When you’ve waited 12 years, it feels like it has taken forever to be a senior. And then suddenly it’s there.  By the time you fully come to grips with the idea of being a senior, it’s Christmas and then two days later, it’s over.  It’s a time of huge transition to thinking on your own, to facing the world, and to the entering the unknown future. Ethan Miller is a Senior at ACS, and he is jumping headlong into this last year.  Like most seniors, he’s super busy.

JROTC is a huge part of Ethan’s high school career, and so it made perfect sense to do his pictures on the Raider training field, which isn’t a field at all. It’s a huge wooded area full of challenges that are not for the faint of heart. (I think I’m probably faint of heart.)  What these guys and girls do is amazing, and Ethan is the Batallion Commander. I know that I can speak for so so many in saying that Ethan and the JROTC Raiders in general amaze us and make us so proud every year. There’s just a difference in the way that JROTC cadets carry themselves, and I don’t think that’s an accident. They are trained and work on discipline, respect, and perseverance every day. Ethan represents this fine group very well.

Ethan, I know that like most guys, you thought of a thousand things you’d rather have done than these pictures, but you did awesome. I appreciate how you were open to anything I suggested, even when you thought we were done and I saw one more image in my head – which turned into ten.
