Krista and Nick are getting married.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact explanation of how we know when someone has found love, but it’s there just the same. I can see it all over Krista. She was my student a few years ago, and I’ve enjoyed seeing her from time to time over the years since she finished school. And these days, her pretty eyes tell a new story, one that makes her happy, her step just a bit lighter. It’s not that you can’t live a beautiful, purposeful, and peaceful life without a soulmate, but those who find that special person simply shine with a different light than before. It’s one of the sweetest things in life. Nick has brought that light to Krista. It makes my heart so happy to see it. They are a perfect couple. Their joy is a blessing to see.
And you know, sometimes we have to pivot, because life takes us in paths that we don’t anticipate. That’s happened to Nick and Krista. They intended to marry this December, but Nick fell and has endured surgery and rehab for quite a while. So their wedding date changed to next spring. I’m sure that was a tough decision, but they wanted to thoroughly enjoy their day. And those of us who have been married for a long time know that those words – “through sickness and health” and “through good times and bad” aren’t just fluff. It’s going to happen. Seeing this couple figure out how to navigate the bad early is a promise that they will persevere, because they already are.
I am so excited to photograph your wedding Krista and Nick!! It was such fun to spend some time with you doing your engagement session, and I can’t wait to watch you promise forever. These next few months will fly by, and before you know it, you will be adjusting your dress and collar and trying to stop the butterflies in your stomach. Here’s wishing you nothing but positive vibes, and I’ll see you soon!! Love and blessings, Pat
