“It’s just thirty minutes,” I said.
“And then I get to marry Joe.” Julie said. Her eyes smiled all the way to her soul. She loves Joe. And he loves her.
I quickly saw how they feel about each other when I met them for their engagement session on the hottest day of the year. They were open to anything then, and nothing changed on their wedding day. They are steady and both are the kind of person you can count on. I can say with certainty that our world needs more Julies and Joes. But what I will always remember about Julie and Joe is their absolute kindness. They both put others above themselves. I saw it over and over in how they treated their guests. They laughed and enjoyed every moment of their wedding day. Their friends joined in both the preparations, the fun, and then jumped right in to help finish the day at the end. And by that I mean the work of tearing down and loading up what you just spent hours decorating. I see this at lots of weddings, but none more than this one.
A lingering mist didn’t slow down the festivities or stop Julie and Joe’s joy. And at the end of the day, it’s part of their story – the one that will be told as the years roll by. We’ve photographed literally over a thousand weddings over the last 25+ years, and what I’ve learned is that every wedding is special. Each celebration is a little different, and all of them become sweet memories that live in the recesses of our mind. Not every person is blessed or even meant to marry, but those who do and have found the one whom their soul loves relive the memories of their special day the rest of their lives. Obviously no one walks around thinking about their wedding every day forever, but when a wedding is mentioned – their mind will go back….
Julie and Joe, I was incredibly blessed to photograph your wedding. You are both amazing people and I’m thankful to count you as friends now. I’ve seen your character in how you treat each other, your friends/family, and how sweet you were to me. Here’s hoping that you have decades of blessings and that all your dreams come true. I’ll always be cheering you on. Love and blessings, Pat
When the mist will not leave, you do outside photos on the front porch. This amazing crew rolled with it.
Julie’s grandpa walked her down the aisle to meet Joe. It was so sweet.
Their wedding party was just the best!!
When the grass is soaked, you find some gravel.
This is one of my favorites.
Those smiles say it all.
