“Have you ever seen a couple more in love??” the videographer asked me. No, no I haven’t. Their beautiful wedding at the Hidden Homestead in Smiths Grove on October 9 was a celebration of that love.
Whitney and Jacob are in love. The emotions and tears proved it over and over. Not that you have to be overly emotional to be in love… But it was no trouble to see that this couple has found their happiness, and it’s in each other. They read their letters out loud for the video, and I quickly realized the raw sincerity of both their hearts. Jacob told Whitney how she completed him and pushed him to be a better man, a better father, and Whitney promised to love his twins as her own forever. And isn’t that what our person should do? Love our children as their own, and push us to be better. Whitney told us that Jacob leaves her sweet notes quite often, and one thing is for sure, she has stolen his heart – all of it. (Scroll to the bottom to see a special session that Whitney and Jacob did with River and Ryder after they were out of quarantine.)
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll, I am so happy for both of you. Your joy in each other is the sweetest, and I know it is a blessing for sure. I watched how you handled that the twins were in quarantine and couldn’t be there, and then how your honeymoon flight was cancelled. You handled both with grace, some sadness, but also figured out a way to still honor each other and the moment. I was honored to photograph your wedding, and I wish you years and years of happiness together. Love and blessings, Pat
Whitney’s sister, niece, and coworkers were amazing attendants.
The Hidden Homestead has a beautiful cottage to accommodate the bridal party. Isn’t a mother’s love the best blessing?
First looks with the wedding party and Dad.
Y’all, these were such sweet, heartfelt letters to each other. We often look at just the beauty of a wedding, but Whitney and Jacob’s letters to each other were the REASON for the wedding. Their love is special and was such a blessing for me to see.
And then Jacob saw his bride.
My favorite picture of the day. Self explanatory.
Jacob’s brothers served as his attendants, and one of them was also the officiant. It was a family affair. And they were all such fun.
Oh that light.
I’ve mentioned light before….With photos, it’s all about the light. Sometimes we can do photos where you’d expect, and sometimes we have to traipse across a bit of wet to get to the light. Whitney and Jacob trusted us and did anything we asked.
They were also willing to step into the weeds just a bit. Love these.
Whitney and Jacob wanted pics with her step-dad’s gorgeous truck.
Because they did a first look, we were able to talk almost all the family photos before the wedding. It made for such a fun reception; Whitney and Jacob were able to be fully present.
More bride/groom photos – because we had time.
Gifts to each other before the wedding.
And then Whitney married Jacob.
And the celebration began.
Whitney and her sister now share the same wedding date. It was super sweet that Whitney had the DJ play Wendy and Mike’s song and had a special dance for them. 22 years later, they are still in love too.
Freda, Whitney’s mom, made this quilt for them! It is gorgeous!!
Sweet nieces….
This was such a fantastic sparkler crew!!!
Then they stole away to face time the twins. It was a bittersweet, but precious moment.
And then we did a special session at Dugas with River and Ryder. As I said when I shared these on FB, their entertainment value is priceless. They way they say things and their fun way of seeing the world had me in stitches. There is never a dull moment with them around. And it’s no trouble to see that their new stepmom adores them.
