I’m so excited to share this shoot!! The Stovalls and I had talked about doing a themed session since last spring. Over the course of that time, the style took different forms, and our lives were all so busy. But we finally made Bohemian happen and I loved it. I’m pretty sure they did too. Of course who wouldn’t love photographing the gorgeous Maelie Stovall?? She is so easy going and was happy to try any ideas that we had. I think it turned out pretty great. And I don’t think any of us ended up with anything itchy. I’ve learned that if you want great shots, you have to be willing to crawl through a tunnel if that’s what it takes to get the angle in just the right light. Thankfully there were no tunnels around. But that’s an idea for another fun day sometime.
We started late in the afternoon. It’s no secret that golden hour is 1-2 hours before sunset. If you want breath taking photos, plan around that timeframe. Of course, on this day, we ended up with mostly clouds until the very end when we arrived at the lake. (We shot in four locations between 6:30 and dark thirty when we finally gave it up. ) At the lake, the sun came out just long enough to cast a glow across the water that would take your breath. And our model, she did fabulous even when we were flying around because we were losing light two seconds at a time.
If you are thinking about Boho, go for it!! It’s one of the most versatile and interpretive styles around and you really can’t go wrong. Imagine a wandering gypsy and you’ve got the right idea. I hope our fun session will get your wheels rolling and your imagination fired up. And of course, I’d love to do Bohemian again anytime!
Been to Paradise Point lately? This place is amazing!!! Good food, fun, and just so many inspirations in on spot.
