Lindsey and Ben’s wedding at the LynnLee Barn was beyond beautiful! June 2, 2018 was the day that they and their families had planned for, dreamed about, and worked so hard to create. From the moment I walked up to the LynnLee, I knew they had left nothing to chance. From the beautiful guest book down to the gorgeous bride and groom table, everything was draped in beauty. My eyes kept moving from tables to fireplace to bouquets by Hobdy’s Too – trying to find my favorite to begin the detail shots, which are always what I create first. I struggled because it was all so lovely and flowed throughout the venue. Every little girl’s dream wedding came to life in this place. Lori Simmons – you have an eye for what works perfectly together. When I finally settled down and got to business, I just kept finding this detail or that to add to the shots. I’m not very good at moving on when get I started with details, so making myself stop was a feat in itself.
Oh Lindsey and Ben – You are an amazing couple! I so enjoy your zest for life and your dedication and love for each other. I knew it when we met to sign your wedding contract, and it was there again when we did your engagement pictures on the Simmons farm last fall. I have such admiration for farm life, and miss so many aspects of it from my childhood, that I always jump at any chance to do a session on a family farm. And that October afternoon did not disappoint, and neither did you all. You were willing to try anything I suggested and I appreciated your trust, even when I’d see Ben raise one eyebrow just a little and give a bit of a squint eye. Then he’d grin and get right on with it. (Reminded me just a little of him as a student years ago at JEBMS.)
And your wedding. First, the hats- I loved the hats so many of the ladies wore. It added just the right amount of fun and elegance to the day – just like you two. Then that sweet look on Ben’s face as his lovely bride came down the aisle, I tried – but I’m pretty sure a picture just couldn’t capture exactly how happy he was. It was pretty obvious when the minister said, “You may kiss the bride,” and I quickly grabbed a shot. Usually there’s a millisecond chance, but then I snapped again, and again, and everyone in the crowd smiled and looked as radiant as you two.
The reception was spectacular. It started with the beautiful cake and delicious catering by Amanda Minix. When Lindsey’s mom and uncle sang one of Lindsey and Ben’s songs, ” Make you Feel my Love,” the sweet and beautiful words were perfect for this funloving, but sweet couple.
I can not forget the DANCING… The bride/groom dance was precious and fun all at the same time. Then the father/daughter dance came and I was about to learn a whole new meaning to dance. I have two stumbling left feet, so watching what happened the rest of the night was nothing short of amazing. The energy, laughter, and crazy challenges were hilarious and entertaining to a new level. I’m pretty sure I missed some shots because I was laughing so hard. What a perfect ending to a beautiful day.
I hope that you love every single memory from June 2, 2018, and that your love of life and laughter grows even deeper as the years pass by. Love and Blessings, – Pat
