I don’t remember when I first met the Woods family; it feels like I’ve known them forever. They, like myself, have spent the better part of two decades and more at “the ballpark” each spring. While I’ve been photographing littles and teams, they have been working the ball fields down after a rain, coaching, manning the various concession stands, and probably ten more things than I can think of right now. And what we’ve both done is watch a generation of kids grow into adulthood right before our eyes. We blinked, and it happened. Those are some great memories; the frigid cold, crazy winds, and scalding heat – depending on the season – just made the memories more vivid. Those were some good times, and I hope the sweet kids who swung those bats don’t forget the hard work their parents and community put into making each season happen.
Kortney was one of those sweet kiddos. And she is as sweet today as she was the first time I took her picture at the ball park – back when she wasn’t as tall as a full size bat. Then she came through JEBMS, still as sweet as ever, and grew into a beautiful young lady. That smile of hers is gorgeous, and so is her attitude – easy going and kind. I love that FFA is important to her, and that she loves the country and rustic sceneries as much as I do.
Kortney, you are an amazing young lady, and I appreciate so many things about you – with your absolute sweetheart nature being the top of the list. I know that anything you decide to do in the medical field will be a perfect fit for you. I imagine you being a blessing to anyone you are helping, and I know your can-do attitude will come through with every single thing you do. Here’s hoping that you have an amazing senior year and a future filled with blessings and as beautiful as you are. Love, Pat
