Kelsey and Kendall wanted a spring wedding at the barn right above their home in Edmonton.
Their vision was brought to life through lots of planning, plenty of help, and the blessing of amazing weather on April 3rd. It always amazes me when a barn is transformed into a wedding venue. This barn was the perfect example of that with white canvas, beautiful flowers, and creative use of a wood wall. Even the lighting was creative. It was the natural wedding venue for a couple who love nature, animals, and the farm life. And did I mention that it was beautiful???
As beginnings go, this first day of marriage for these love birds was perfect. It wasn’t perfect in that there were no surprises; imagine this beautiful bride, veil flying behind her, chasing down an escaped sheep. No big deal. She herded the little escapee right back into her pen, and came back to put on her wedding dress and marry her love. What was perfect was the beauty of the bride and groom and their surroundings, the joy, laughter, and love they share, and the friends and family who came to celebrate with them. Oh – and the story – the story is always perfect no matter what happens, because it’s how you handle the little unexpected things that pop up (like an escaped sheep) that determine the joy you feel. I was sad that I missed the opportunity to grab photos of the sheep chase, but shared in the laughter and hilarity of how crazy things happen at the worst moments.
Kendall and Kelsey, it was my pleasure to capture your wedding. I hope that it was everything that you dreamed and I wish you years and years of happiness, and perseverance over any obstacle that comes your way. I can’t wait to see the life you carve out for yourselves! We will all be cheering for you every step of the way. Love and blessings, Pat
Kelsey and Kendall would like to thank everyone who spent long hours helping them set up the barn,
and for all the help on the wedding day.
