Engagement photos are such fun, but for the couple, they are a little nerve wrecking for the first few minutes. That’s a natural feeling, and I’m willing to bet that 99% of couples feel a tad of stress when we first start. But then magically, everything starts to feel better. I’m always so happy to see the relaxed smiles, to hear the real laughter, and to watch my couples become themselves. And with these two, it happened in spite of the rain showers that followed every step we made. When schedules are tight, you make it happen even if the weather is less than perfect. The drizzle did not dampen their spirit or smiles, and we did some catching up too.
I already knew both Kaitlyn and Lucan. Kaitlyn was a beautiful bridesmaid in her cousin’s wedding a couple of years ago. I remember how sweet and helpful she was during that wedding. In addition, Kaitlyn is working with our high school kiddos – which also has close ties to my heart. And I really enjoyed getting to know Lucan through his middle school years at JEBMS. He was a fantastic person then, but seeing him now as a young man who clearly adores his bride impresses me so much. I’m always thrilled to see former students who are grown and doing well!! It does my heart good and makes me feel so blessed to do what I do.
Kaitlyn and Lucan – I can not wait to photograph your wedding in April!! It was wonderful to reconnect, and my heart was warmed in seeing how much you love each other. I hope you have two seconds to enjoy this season of life, because it’s such a sweet moment in your story. Before you know it, you’ll be promising forever, and I know it’s going to be beautiful!! And more than that, your love and joy is the biggest blessing of all!! Love and blessings, Pat
