Kadie + Wade | A Glowy Late Afternoon Engagement Session in Scottsville

Weddings Engagements

When you love to hike and have two beautiful options right here in Scottsville, why go anywhere else??  That’s exactly what Kadie and Wade chose to do last Saturday for their engagement session.  The devastating winds from last Friday didn’t skip Wade’s family farm, so they cleared out all they could before our session time.  I can never get enough of this place.  It’s like a perfect get-away from busy life, right at their fingertips any day.  And of course, the trails at Dugas Park are any hiker’s dream…..

I’ve literally watched this beautiful couple grow up.  Kadie has been such a sweetie and beautiful inside and out since she came into this world, and Wade is the perfect match for her.  Their love has been in the air since their JEBMS days.  In fact, not long after Wade moved to Allen County, their eyes found each other.  We were talking about how long they’ve been together (9 years), except as Wade pointed out that time when Kadie broke up with him in middle school.  “Why??!!!” I asked.  It was because he wanted her to meet his mom and dad.  Kadie was quite freaked out and just couldn’t do it.  Then she figured out her dad was wiring his parents’ new house, and they might not be so scary after all.  And if you know his parents, you know they are the least scary folks on earth.  It’s safe to say that both sets of parents just couldn’t be happier about these two.  It is after all, a parent’s greatest hope that their child will find a love who shares their same values and VALUES their child.  There’s no doubt about it for this couple.  They are both truly salt of the earth.

Hey you two, I’m beyond blessed that I get to photograph your wedding! I’m thrilled even more that Katie got over the scare of meeting Wade’s parents, and you have stayed together to see the next chapter of your lives as one.  I think you are both amazing, but together, you are unstoppable.  I pray that you never lose the grace, joy, and deep love that you feel right now.  I’ll always pray for you and cheer for you.  Love and blessings,  Pat
