Not even another freezing cold March Saturday could dampen the fun I had photographing Joni and Jarret at The Kentucky Grand Hotel in Bowling Green, KY. It’s always an honor when I’m chosen to photograph a wedding, but when it’s the third one in a family, it’s reaffirming to me. I have photographed two of Jarret’s cousins nuptials in the last few years, and I was thrilled when Joni reached out to schedule their wedding for this summer. Let me tell you, they are an amazing couple. I’m so excited to share my MANY favorites from their session.
Helping my couples live out their wedding and engagement dreams is important to me. So when Joni posed the idea of doing part of their session in the Derby Bar the the Grand Hotel, I was all about it. I love nothing more than finding the right light, figuring out the best angles, and of course capturing beautiful images!! We had the place to ourselves, which made it even better. And then we braved the March chill to chase around some beautiful spring blooms right across the street. If you know me, you already know that this session fired me up. I didn’t even care that I had to zip up my jacket.
These two are so in love, and it shines through in every frame. And besides a brief time in college, they’ve been together since Jarret was a junior and Joni was a sophomore in high school. I had no problem capturing real joy and laughter, and it was such fun that they both came up with ideas too. They were as invested in these pictures as I was.
Joni and Jarret, you were amazing to photograph!! I appreciate how you were literally up for anything I suggested. Thank you for trusting me to photograph this important time in your life. I am so excited to capture your wedding, and I can’t wait to see the love and happiness on your faces on your big day. Here’s wishing you all the best as you continue to plan your future together. Love and blessings, Pat
