Oh my goodness – Downtown Scottsville is a perfect spot for an engagement session!! AND This couple was such a blessing for me to photograph! Their love and joy radiated and made the heat much more bearable for us all. Couples are one of my favorites to photograph because the sweetness and happiness of their young love is so refreshing. They are a perfect pair of lovebirds for me to start a new journey of blogging; I’m so excited.

I’ve known Holli since she was in my 7th grade Language Arts class so many years ago. I remember her eagerness to learn and her sweet personality and smile every single day. She was precious then, and has grown up to be such a beautiful young lady who deserves perfect happiness. I think she’s found that in Karlo. He obviously adores her. I knew he was perfect for Holli within five minutes of meeting him. You know – just that look in his eyes every time he made eye contact with Holli; his willingness to trapse all over the place and hug her up even though we were wiping our brows every two minutes; and that genuine smile the whole time…. I don’t know who the mutual friend from church was who introduced them, but you couldn’t have started the journey of a more beautiful pair.

And can I say, Holli and Karlo’s outfit choices were perfect! Perfection. And that made it even easier to guide them right into beautiful poses that capture the joy in their life. I loved both choices, but Holli’s long, flowy dress added so much class and beauty to her images. She rocked the twirls in heels and was a trooper when I asked her to walk all over downtown Scottsville.

Our little down is unique in so many ways. The courthouse with all it’s elegance right next to the alleyways and pocket park take you to a different time. The hard work our city officals undertook years ago has come to fruition and lends itself easily to photographs that capture the spirit of beautiful relationships like Holli and Karlo’s.

Holli and Karlo, as you start the next chapter of your love story, I wish you two the most abundant lifelong love. The kind that surpasses understanding, and renews itself each day, through thick and thin, trials and happiness. Your joy is captivating and refreshing.
