Oh it was COLD last week when we decided to photograph an engagement session in the snow.
The actual snow was beautiful, and took our breath. In another very real sense, the WIND also took our breath. It cut through our gloves like at knife and froze crystals inside our lungs. I really didn’t know that I could take photos that fast. We didn’t mess around because I wanted to get as many poses as possible before we literally froze to the ground. It was pretty tough at the time, but every snow session I’ve ever done makes me smile.
And this crew had such a reason to celebrate! Chelsea and Matt are getting married; they are blending a beautiful family. I was quite impressed with their ability to handle the cold in several fewer layers than I had on. The whole crew handled it like champs.
But to be fair, the future Mr. and Mrs. Napier lasted the longest. Long after the rest gave up and found some relief out of the wind, Chelsea and Matt’s laughter warmed my heart. I’m beyond thrilled for them and the home they are creating. What a blessing to be given second chances. Literally each of us have needed that second chance in one form or the other. It’s certain that three young men will keep things lively and interesting for the Napiers. I’m always cheering for you!!!
Here’s wishing you much love and blessings, Chelsea and Matt!!
Please enjoy several of my favorites from this fun and snowy session!!
