Abby LOVES pictures. She loves taking them, and of course being in them. She loves various styles and photographers. I think she might be the only person who just loves everything photo related as much as I do. That made doing a couple of sessions for her such fun. She had great ideas and was super photogenic. I appreciated her willingness to do anything I suggested, even if it meant heading out into a field with super cute wedges. “I don’t care,” she would say every single time. So we’d head out and she’d turn that gorgeous smile on.
When we planned her senior session, Abby wanted some with her cheer, and some in a field. I photograph all over the place, and I just happened to suggest doing the field pics at the beautiful Shirley farm. That’s when I found out that Abby’s great grandmother lived there years ago. Isn’t it amazing how thing just work out full circle sometimes? I always think it’s cool when we choose locations with close meaning, and this happy accident did just that.
Abby loves kids, and especially has a heart to love those who struggle. I remember when she was at JEBMS, she worked in the MSD classroom every nine weeks that she could. She developed deep relationships with several of those kiddos and that joy has followed her to the high school. These days, she realizes that her heart for kids is pointing to a teaching career, and specifically working with struggling students through the special education program. I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we need tons of teachers who have a calling to work with kids who need extra love and help. It always makes me smile when I find out that the next generation of kiddos will be in good hands with teachers like Abby who understand their unique needs and find ways to connect to some of our most precious students.
Abby, I hope your senior year is as amazing as your beautiful smile. It will pass by faster than you can imagine, and soon you will find yourself on to the next chapter of your life. I wish you success at Western, and I know that you will be a fantastic teacher. Love and blessings, Pat
I had to include some of my favorites from Abby’s Prom session at the gorgeous Kentucky Hilltop Vineyard. It’s located right here in Allen County.
