Love is a beautiful gift, and that thought isn’t lost on Barbie and Leo.
On April 2, there was more than one tear shed, and it was all touching. Barbie’s heart is tender like mine, and her joy and happiness made me tear up too. When her dad came to walk her down the aisle, she fought for control, and the rest of us did too. It was a moment that neither she nor anyone else in the room will forget. When you love your family fiercely and they have your back no matter what comes, your heart twists just a little when life’s big moments come around. Watching the father/daughter and mother/son dance let me know that both the bride and groom have had amazing parents who gave them the extra chance that every child deserves.
It’s just the biggest blessing to watch the joy and happiness that abounds when true love has been found. And we all know finding your love doesn’t mean that life won’t throw curve balls at you, because it will. And it doesn’t mean that you will always see eye to eye on everything, because you won’t. But it does mean that now you are two, not one, and two people working together toward the same dreams and goals have twice the chance of success. And the journey is truly the story. We’ve all listened to those older than us who told about their ups and downs, and wondered how they made it. We listened in awe when they told of both joy and tragedy, and probably never thought that it was the potholes and cracks in the road that made them strong and welded their souls and spirits to withstand the fire.
Barbie and Leo, what a BEAUTIFUL wedding!!! I loved witnessing your joy and promises of forever. I know that your love and dedication to each other has not only made your future bright, but also the joy of a precious little girl who clearly adores you both. Here’s hoping that you continue catching tons of fish, have decades of anniversary dates, and that you never forget how you felt when you danced together on your wedding day! Love and blessings, Pat
