Morgan and David’s anniversary session in downtown Scottsville was a dream for me! Morgan had contacted me to do a spring anniversary session and it worked out perfectly in spite of this being the rainiest spring in years. We kept watching for a dry moment at the golden hour right before sunset – and finally it happened. I know as many years as I’ve been looking at life through a viewfinder, I probably shouldn’t get silly excited, but when everything works out just right, I’m in camera heaven. – This was one of those evenings.

And these two…. obviously still magic just like they were two years ago when I photographed their wedding . He loves her. And she loves him. It’s all over their faces, and sweetness of how they treat each other and how David was willing to smile, and hug, I’m pretty sure he didn’t mind the stolen kisses, and walk and walk. – And then do it again at another location – all for Morgan.

As I walked and talked with them about how their life was going, where they lived now, and all the sweet things couples accomplish when they work together, my heart was touched by how they were just full of joy. Life isn’t always easy; there are many rough spots, but the joy of sharing your life with a person who “gets” you makes all things sweeter.

As are many couples that I photograph, Morgan and David were once my students.  Both were great kids with big hearts and both loved and lived life in middle school to the fullest.  I would have never dreamed they would end up together, but obviously they are perfect.  Besides the the nostalgic part of watching them grow up and grow into this beautiful relationship, it makes me feel so blessed that I get to look at their life through my viewfinder years after they left my classroom at JEBMS.

Morgan and David, you are awesome.  I loved doing these pictures with you, just as I did your wedding.  My prayer is that your love continues to grow deeper with time, to adapt with the crazy seasons of life, and that one day you’ll look back at these with a smile and fond memories.       Love and Blessings,  -Pat
