He has put a beautiful ring on her finger, and she hasn’t stopped smiling since. Neither has he.
Kelsey and Kendall are tying the knot next April, and I love that they are getting married very close to where they will begin the next chapter in their life. They also wanted to do their engagement session on land that they love. That’s one of the sweetest aspects of photographing couples; I love traveling to different locations to capture this important time in places that have deep meaning. When I arrived to their farm last week, Kelsey already knew her favorite places and we incorporated them all into their session. First was the tunnel that I’ve traveled through probably a million times, but it was the first time I’ve done pictures there. It’s amazing what you can find when you look around through eyes that want to capture the beauty of everyday land. And that land will be a part of years of memories for Kelsey and Kendall.
What I found out in two minutes is that these two love to simply enjoy what is around them, and most of all to laugh. One of life’s best blessings is joy that travels all the way to our soul, and finding the person you love with your whole being brings a huge spark of that joy. Kendall and Kelsey carry that happiness with their eyes and their light step. We all know that every part of life isn’t always joy and laughter, but traveling the roads with your soulmate makes even the most difficult times easier. So Kelsey and Kendall, I hope you always keep that laughter, the fun, and joy in just breathing the same air. It will keep your heart whole and your love strong.
I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next spring. I know it will be beautiful, and most importantly – you have your other half and memories to cherish forever. And Kelsey, I can’t keep from smiling every time I think about your grandfather’s teasing warning that if you weren’t careful, you’d turn into one of those Judds. It seems that he knew what he was talking about, and I personally think it’s a pretty sweet move. Love and blessings, Pat
