Oh it was beautiful!!  Every part of Hannah and Austin’s wedding at Elkin’s Grove was just breathtaking.  And that included the cool sunny day, which plays such a role in how the day unfolds for an outside wedding.

I remember the first time I met Hannah and Austin.  They were on the porch at his brother’s home during a slight downpour at their beautiful wedding.  Hannah was snuggled up in his lap, and I could tell then that they were so in love.  And now, just a bit over a year later, they had their own special day.  As I write this, I keep thinking about how many times I’ve heard Austin’s mother say that the girls who love her sons are the answer to so many prayers.  And isn’t that so true?  Besides our hope of life eternal, one of the next important joys in life is finding the perfect mate, the person who completes us and is our other half.  When a parent sees that coming to fruition, it’s one of the deepest satisfactions in life.

If you know me, I love sentimental moments, and a wedding is just the perfect opportunity to capture so many of those.  In truth, I’m often wiping a tear or two myself.  I used try to hide it, but as I’ve gotten older, I’m over sneaking anything.  That’s just who I am.  I cry with who ever is crying, for whatever reason.  Thankfully, on weddings – it’s usually happy tears.  When Hannah’s dad saw his stunning daughter in her wedding dress, several others joined me in wiping some tears.  Then there was Hannah’s mom helping her put on her dress and veil, her new mother-in-law giving her a special gift, and the heartfelt toasts by Hannah’s sister, and Austin’s brother. And I’m sure, there were so many others that were just as amazing, but not in front of me.  It’s no wonder everyone is a bit wiped out after a wedding.  That one day is the melding of two families together forever, the culmination of so many hopes and dreams.  And when it’s a work of the heart, it truly is a beautiful thing to witness.

Hannah and Austin, it was my blessing to photograph your wedding.  You are an amazing couple, and your love for each other and for your family and friends is refreshing.  I hope you never forget how you felt on this day.  Troubles and trials of life will come, but together you can weather any storm as long as you are fighting on the same team.  I wish you years of happiness and ultimate peace.    Love and blessings,  Pat
