Taylor Beth | ACS Senior 2021

Teens Seniors

It was fitting that the sky was a bit dramatic last week when Taylor Beth came to the Bray sunflower field to complete the second part of her extended senior session.  She is after all a drama queen of the best type.  Our hometown has enjoyed so many ACS Band and Colorguard performances, and Taylor Beth is always a huge part of the production.  She’s a natural performer, and it’s in her heart too.  It’s simply a part of who she is to her core.

As we worked through her senior sessions, Taylor’s drama skills made photographing her such fun.  She thought of poses two steps ahead of me so many times.  We laughed and created together.  A huge part of having your senior pictures made is the actual experience itself.  My goal is always, always to create an atmosphere that makes the session a great senior memory.   That begins with making sure each client is comfortable and knows that I will capture this time in their life at the best angles in the best light.  If you are a natural, that’s great! But if you feel weird about what to do with your hands and how to turn your feet, don’t worry, because I can guide you every step of the way.  The first 10 minutes, every client feels a bit sideways, but within just a few poses – the strange feeling changes.

Speaking of changes, I’ve watched Taylor grow up from a sweet little girl into a beautiful young lady, and it feels like it just happened over night.  She was always such a conscientious student when she walked the halls of JEBMS, so I wasn’t surprised to find out that she was a Governor’s Scholar this year.  She had just returned from Louisville when we did her first session back in late July.  Due to Covid, it was shortened, mask required and distanced, but still an amazing experience for the scholars. It feels like everything is changed these days, but we all are working to find ways to be normal during these crazy times.  And truly, I watched the joy on the faces of seniors last week when we all came outside of JEBMS to cheer them on during the Senior parade.  Being a senior is one of the best times of your life, and our ACS seniors are finding ways to enjoy this season – even if it has to look a bit different.

Taylor, you were amazing to photograph; your posing skills are a direct reflection of all the drama work you’ve done all through your childhood years.  I hope your senior year is one that is filled with the coolest memories.  I wish you success in all you do and I know you will throw yourself headfirst into your dream of architecture at UK come true.   Most of all, here’s to a lifetime of happiness!  Love and blessings,  Pat

I literally lost track of how many times we rescheduled the sunflower portion of Taylor’s senior photos.  It rained, rained, and rained some more.  But when the weather finally cooperated, we got some amazing shots.  Taylor’s drama skills for the win again with these pics.
