She loves him more than cupcakes, and his voice makes her cry. His smile lights up when her eyes meet his. It’s the perfect reason to plan a wedding. September 28, 2019 was a super warm day, but just in time for the ceremony, the sun slipped behind a light cloud cover. I think we all smiled just a little bigger, and it made a beautiful day even sweeter.
I’ve been impressed with this couple since Alex contacted me to photograph their engagement in spring, 2018. They were so deeply in love, and also practical and had a plan for both their wedding and their life together. I have known them both since even before their middle school days, and both have always been fun, hardworking and most of all, kind to everyone around them. And then when you consider them together as a husband and wife, oh my – they are an amazing couple! I love their heart for each other, and their sweet spirit. Just being around them feels right and good.
Alex and Caleb, I know that you are on your honeymoon as I write this, and I can’t wait for you to see your pictures. It’s hard to explain how it’s possible, but the joy and love you share shines from the first photo to the last. I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of weddings, and the emotion and refreshing hopes and dreams of each couple still touches me all these years later. Your story and commitment to each other is especially sweet to me, and I pray that your love and commitment only grows as the years roll by. It was such a blessing for me to photograph your wedding. This moment was as real as it gets. These ladies share deep love and such a bond. They had not seen Alex’s wedding dress on her. I think they approve.
It’s no secret that I have a tender heart for sentimental moments, and I will never forget when their hands touched around the door before the ceremony. When Alex heard Caleb’s voice, she was instantly in tears, and so was everyone else too. It’s just that way sometimes when you know that you’ve found your forever love. The joy and beauty of this day was outshined only by the love these two share.
This wedding party was amazing! They were up for anything, even in some record-breaking warmth.
The Glea is a beautiful venue, and in the hands of Magnolia and Steel, it was stunning. Everywhere I turned, there were sprinkles of beauty. Seth and Krista know how to bring a vision to life, and they have done it every time I’ve photographed a wedding that they’ve touched. Their hard work created the atmosphere that matched the sweet and elegant grace of Alex and Caleb’s wedding.
A thousand independent decisions go into creating the perfect wedding day. And whether the details are over the top or just sweet accents, they should reflect a bride and groom’s personality. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw this groom’s cake. I don’t think any other explanation is necessary.
The tradition continues…..
Sometimes I am just blown away by the dance floor. It’s probably because I walk around on two left feet, but it’s safe to say the folks you see here can move!!!
