Katelyn + Joseph | A Late Winter Engagement Session at Port Oliver

Weddings Engagements

How about this beautiful couple??  Katelyn and Joseph are about to tie the knot, and I mean soon…. next month. Last Saturday was a bit windy and the cold stung too, but we made it happen because we needed to capture this time in their story before the next chapter.

And I know I don’t need to point out that this winter has been cold and wildly unpredictable.  We’ve rescheduled a few times hoping for better conditions, and of course we wanted beautiful pictures with great and golden light. AND who doesn’t crave the green that we distantly remember from summer?  At least I do.  That’s where Port Oliver comes into the scene.  The pines never look more beautiful than in the winter, because the other trees have lost their leaves.  Unless you can find areas where oak trees are still sporting their last few leaves before spring pushes them off, you are left with stark tree trunks, and that feels a little cold to me.  So pines are such a welcome sight, which makes Port Oliver a go-to for me this time of year.

Katelyn and Joseph, I’m so happy for you two, and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in Glasgow in April.  I love how you have it together, how you literally work together to accomplish your goals, and the obvious love you have for each other.  Marriage is not about beautiful photos (even though I think they are pretty cool to have); it’s about creating a life that sustains you both and allows your family to flourish.  I see that happening with you two!!  I’ll see you next month.  Meanwhile, please enjoy my favorites from your sweet session!

Love and blessings,  Pat
