In one day, last Saturday, I was blessed to photograph a couple I’d never met before, and also a couple I’ve known since they are running around the middle school.
Alexis and Jordan were both Allen County kiddos, and they are perfect for each other. I say this a lot, but it feels like just yesterday I watched these two growing up as they were figuring out how to get to classes on time and manage homework. And now they are planning a wedding to happen next spring. It’s a reminder that life is passing, and the different aspects of our journey quickly come through and fade into new seasons. So enjoy this exciting and also a bit terrifying time of your life. It too will fade into another season of marriage, and all too soon, you’ll look back on these days and they will be a sweet memory.
I loved doing this session for you two. And most of all, I appreciate how much you love each other. Your happiness is sweet to see. In fact, seeing young couples who have their feet on the ground, but their hearts in the air is refreshing and renews my hope for the future. In a world where things can seem a bit sideways most days, couples like you two are a fantastic reminder that all is not out of balance in this world. To be sure, there are trials ahead; there have always been trials for every generation on earth. That is a part of human existence. But there is also joy, and we have the choice on what we choose to focus our energy on. And finding your soulmate makes focusing on joy a bit easier.
I wish you lots of happiness, smiles, and peaceful, quiet moments too. Love and blessings, Pat
