Kelly + Hunter | A Spring Engagement Session at Dale Hollow Lake

Last week I had the incredible privilege of photographing Kelly and Hunter’s engagement session. If you know me, you aren’t surprised that I jumped headfirst into the idea of doing this shoot at their favorite escape, Dale Hollow Lake. The locations they chose were places that they love the most. As Kelly said, “It feels like a little vacation.” I couldn’t agree more. Nature calms the brain and soothes our soul, and it was perfect weather too. We kept pinching ourselves because it really shouldn’t be this warm in February.

Early morning or late afternoon light is prettiest, so we chose to meet at 3:30 at the marina to begin. I knew exactly where we needed to begin as soon as I saw the walkway between the boats, and it just happened to be where they love to walk around to just enjoy the atmosphere.

One of my favorite things about doing engagement sessions is the absolutely perfect smiles – the happiness that just surrounds every step, every laugh. Kelly and Hunter were introduced by a mutual friend, and the rest is history. Their smiles are real, and their joy is such a blessing to witness. They went above and beyond with every pose I suggested, and I loved getting to know their story. After this fun session, I feel like I’ve already known them for years.

OH MY!!! I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved trekking through this trail at Dale Hollow, because at the end of it was the MOST spectacular view. I couldn’t believe that I had not seen this spot until now.
