Emily and Riley could not have had a more beautiful day to promise forever. Even the sun slipped behind light clouds at so many perfect times. It was as if Mother Nature was smiling in approval at this amazing couple.

For me, one of the most blessed parts of photographing weddings is the human connection. I reconnect with friends, find new ones, and am blessed to watch such sweet and heart-warming moments. First looks are just about my favorite. Not everyone does them, and that’s perfectly fine, but for the ones who do, it’s a moment you will never recreate in your lifetime. It almost feels surreal – to watch the joy and nerves all intermingled, to see hearts swelling with pride, and the inevitable battles lost to overflowing tears. Emily did first looks with her bridesmaids, her dad, and her almost husband. They were all precious.

Emily and Riley, you were simply a beautiful and equally amazing couple. Your happiness with each other and how you love your family fiercely were not lost on anyone who witnessed your vows, including me. I can not quite vocalize how much I loved photographing both your engagement session and your wedding. It feels like I’ve already known you forever, and I will always cheer you on.
