Aaron was too exited to cry during the first look with his beautiful bride, but when he saw Emily coming down the aisle at Bodock Farms, the tears won. And then we were all fighting back the tears.
I first met Emily last summer when Aaron contacted me with an idea for a surprise proposal. I knew the perfect spot at Briar Rose Garden and this beautiful couple left that session engaged. And smiling. They’ve not stopped smiling since. This past year flew by, and I was thrilled to photograph their wedding on June 25th. When I arrived last Saturday, I saw Aaron first. I asked if he was nervous. “A little,” he admitted. What? This guy is perfectly at home in front of a crowd. But then he explained, “I just want it to be perfect for her.” And my heart melted a little, and not due to the heat that followed me all the way from Scottsville. And by the way…… it was perfect – for both of them.
Emily really messed up the long term plan Aaron had for his life. Everyone knew the plan…. he made it very clear that there would be no marriage for years.. And then he met this beautiful girl at EKU. She was different…. and in a sweet and kind way. And that difference stole Aaron’s heart and cause a huge disruption in his plan. It happens all the time, and Aaron probably didn’t notice the secret smiles when he was proclaiming that HE wasn’t going to change his plans for anyone. It’s the way it’s been since the beginning of time. You know…. boy meets girl…. And now when the next generation has big plans, Aaron and Emily might secretly smile a little too.
Hey you two lovebirds! I was incredibly blessed to photograph your simply perfect wedding. Your joy and smiles were the light of the day. And I can’t wait to see what your future holds. I’ll always smile when I think of your story, and I’ll always be cheering for you. Love and blessings, Pat
I have to mention the gorgeous florals created Seth Graves. His work is always on point and pure perfection.
This crew could compete with any barbershop quartet out there. Their harmony was so sweet to hear.
And have you ever seen a more beautiful group of ladies?
And four lovely grandmothers stole the show with their petals and smiles.
Oh my heart….
If you know the Borth family, everything is stitched with antics and laughter. Aaron had to confer with his groomsmen before he said YES he would marry the beautiful bride. Emily was not to be outdone. She turned to confirm before she agreed as well. Aaron may have met his match. Every time I look at these photos, I laugh again.
But then, humility, respect, and service to each other. Equally important in a marriage.
Both the best man and maid of honor speeches were spectacular, and full of fun stories.
And a stunning choreographed first dance. The second in two weeks of weddings. I’m simply amazed.
