If you walk deep into the woods at Shanty Hollow, you might hear the patter of feet, and and occasional expression of awe…. And chances are it might be Emily, Scott, and the boys. Their laughter echoes though the trails, and those trails are beautiful. They are untouched by concrete and urban conveniences, and that’s why they love it there. When they asked me to do their session on the trail, I didn’t hesitate. I knew lighting might be a challenge, but I also knew we could make it work. And we did. There were enough pockets of light that we were able to capture so many of the beautiful features of this area. And of course, it’s extra special because Emily and Scott spend so much time there.
They went to the same church, but didn’t really “see” each other. Then, nearly two years ago, Emily ignored the first several messages that Scott sent her. In fact, he had decided that he would try one more time. And that happened to be the time she decided to respond. And literally the rest is history… And the future is theirs. They can’t wait to officially become a family and love each other to and through the rocking years – which I might add, are quite a few decades away…
Emily and Scott, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding this fall. And like your engagement session, I expect it to be full of fun and laughter, and laced with a love for all the natural beauty that surrounds us in this part of the world. I’m so glad you found each other, because not only are you a beautiful and amazingly compatible couple, the joy you share is something that so many are continuing to pray for. I hope that you always find a safe haven in each other and the fact that it’s such a blessing to find the one. Lots of love, Pat
