The blackberries are blooming in Scottsville, and their fragrant and beautiful blooms perfectly framed Holly and Jake when we did their engagement session.

I literally couldn’t be happier for this couple!! Patience is hard, but rewarding in every area of our lives. Multiple times in the Bible, we are told to wait, to have patience… And in today’s drive-through world, we have the hardest time with that concept. But those who wait for the one who completes their soul are greatly rewarded. And when I look at this beautiful couple, that’s exactly what I think about. Their love is the reward, and in about .175 seconds, you can see the depth of that joy.

I’ve known Holly since she was knee high to a grasshopper, and that’s been a a couple of years. Through sports photos over the years, I watched her play from 4 years old, and then I tried to keep her lively antics at bay in the middle school. Her quick wit and twinkling eyes were such fun to be around. All too quickly, she grew up into this gorgeous lady that I’m so impressed with. And she’s found the love of her life in Jake. His easygoing personality and the way his eyes light up with her reflection is the proof that he adores sweet Holly. They are simply an amazing couple. As we walked around to various locations at Dugas Park, I completely enjoyed hearing their love story and was reminded that Facebook has some really lifechanging possibilities. And even though she has some pretty protective older brothers, I know they are excited that the man their sister loves is truly a great guy.

Holly and Jake, I was honored to do your engagement session. Not only are you a beautiful couple, but I truly believe that you are blessed in such a special way. Your love is amazing to see, and I wish you years and years of happiness.
