April 30th dawned with a beautiful sky and spring wind that whipped the girls’ hair and the guys’ coat tails to the blue yonder. But oh it was such a perfect day for Megan to marry the love of her life.
It was my first wedding of 2022, and it was perfect from beginning to end. Not perfect because there weren’t things to deal with, specifically the wind I mentioned earlier. (In fact, at one point I told Megan, “You know your blog will have something about this crazy, never ending wind in it.”) The Thurman-Shirley wedding was perfect because their happiness and joy was beautiful. And even when the wind was whipping all around, this bride and groom and their entire wedding party were still laughing and fully aware of the blessings around them. The atmosphere was so relaxed despite everything that must happen on a wedding day. And it was all simply beautiful. Planning a wedding is a monumental task, and the options for every part of the day are nearly endless. I was quite impressed with how this one flowed from church to reception, start to finish. The colors and decor were a delight to the eye, and the obvious hard work was rewarded with lots of compliments all around. It was such a pleasure to see everyone taking in the moments and breathing in the day made possible by Megan and Dalton’s love.
Megan and Dalton, I will always remember your wedding with a smile. Your happiness with this moment in your life and how you love and respect everyone around you was not lost on me, nor anyone who attended your wedding. I appreciated your willingness to do anything I came up with, multiple times if we needed to. It speaks volumes about your kind hearts and sweet personalities. I wish you years of happiness and success. We all know that life is not always blush roses and twinkling eyes, but we also know that you two have what it takes for the lifetime that marriage is designed to last. You have lots of prayers lifted on your behalf, and we are all cheering you on every day! Love and blessings, Pat
