Sara + Ian | A Golden Hour Engagement Session at Barren River State Park

Weddings Engagements

It’s spring at Barren River State Park, and that means the earth is coming to life. It also signals new beginnings and gives us promise that like our world in the spring, fresh hope springs eternal. And this beautiful couple is taking the next step in their own love story too.

Sara and Ian went to school together, separately. And then Ian suddenly saw her across the cafeteria his junior year of high school. Ian had a massive crush on beautiful Sara from that moment on, but she didn’t see him, not just yet. They were friends first, at least in Sara’s eyes. She eventually let him take her home from school, but made him take $5 a week to help pay for the gas. Looking back, Ian decided that he got the short end of that stick – financially at least.  And then, a couple of years later, after Sara graduated, she began to “see” Ian too. And they’ve been together for seven years. So Ian gave her this beautiful ring, and promised to see her for eternity.

I’ve known them for years, separately of course. Ian and Sara both came through the middle school, and were fantastic students. It always amazes me who ends up in love. Sometimes you get it right, but sometimes, it’s such a surprise. And those are the best! Watching young love blossom is one of the most amazing things to witness, and just listening to them tell their story was refreshing.  Ian’s description of how quickly he crushed on Sara was just the sweetest!!

Sara and Ian, I think you two are the perfect couple. I am impressed with how you work together toward your goals and have plans for your future. Enjoy every moment of this time in your life because it all passes so quickly. And of course, I can not wait to photograph your wedding this fall!!                                     Love and blessings, Pat
