Kailee and Jamison’s session was scheduled for a week ago, but rain set in for the ENTIRE day and would not give it up, so we tried again on Friday afternoon. And last Friday, the golden sunset on Mill Creek Road in Tompkinsville was breath taking.
What was even sweeter to me was that I met another amazing couple, and that’s my favorite part of photographing couples. I’ve always heard it said to do something that you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life. That’s how I feel to a T with both school and photography. My knees, fingers, and brain often feel differently, but my heart knows that my joy is only outmatched by the happiness that I get to capture and the student’s I’ve loved over all these years.
As we walked around the park, and I learned about Kailee and Jamison, I quickly realized several things about them. First, they love each other with a sweet, comfortable love that is the dream that any parent would wish for their child. Second, they are simply kind and enjoy the best things in life – love, family, and some hobbies that bring a smile to their faces when they talk about them. I also learned that they met in high school when Jamison moved to Tville. Their joy and plans for the future are taking shape with each passing day, and they are counting down the days to August.
Kailee and Jamison, I absolutely loved photographing this moment in your life. It may have seemed like just an ordinary engagement session to you right now, but in years to come, you’ll find that moments that seem just plain and simple will be remembered as quite extraordinary. When we think of all the moments that have to line up for two people to meet at just the right moment in their lives, we should all be in awe of the accidental timing of our lives. What we realize is that it’s no accident at all. So, as you navigate the next few months and wait to slip that band on each other’s finger, enjoy every second of this time in your life. I’ll see you soon! Love and blessings, Pat
